This is a holiday season but it doesn’t feel like one. With increasing covid cases, lockdown and the current farmers protest in India.farmers are struggling for their rights and are on the roads in freezing cold weather. My heart bleeds when I think of the people who have lost their lives during the protest. These are the people who deserve a voice and They are on the roads during the pandemic risking their lives because they know the new laws and bill will ruin the “future of their children”. 3 bills were passed in India that in their current form will result in more hardship for farmers. As such, the issue of farmer suicides in India has been grave. If these bills remain, it will become challenging for farmers to sustain. We must support and create awareness about the protest during present times. On an average one dead body of the farmer reaches Punjab everyday from the borders of Delhi. The farmers are vehemently protecting their land from industrialists and we need to support them. I believe, they need more than just prayers to win this fight. They need financial support and since they are not getting enough media coverage it’s crucial that we spread the word and create awareness.
